Yes. Unlike other air purifiers, The AirBubbl is the only personal, portable air purifier tested and verified by the internationally renowned Institut Pasteur to filter more than 95% of live human airborne coronavirus.
The AirBubbl is the most effective product on the market for the removal of a wide spectrum of air pollutants. These include ‘gases’ such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), VOCs, and particulates such as dust, PM2.5, PM10, bacteria, and odor.
Yes. At AirLabs we believe it’s not only important to remove pollution from the air, but also to deliver clean air back to you in the best way possible. We used advanced airflow modeling to create unique outlets for clean air to be pushed directly into the breathing zone.
The AirBubbl is superior to existing portable air cleaners for two reasons. The first reason is effectiveness – most portable air cleaners have a focus on particles and are not capable of removing large volumes of gases. The AirBubbl has been created using an advanced re-engineered HEPA filter that removes over 95% of the gases that pass through it. The second reason is the air delivery – the AirBubbl is the only product on the market that not only cleans polluted air but also delivers it directly back to the driver and passengers.
The AirBubbl is approximately 31cm in length and 12cm in diameter.
If you would like to remote control the AirBubbl, go to the Apple Store or Google Play Store and download the AirBubbl app. The AirBubbl app also enables you to register your AirBubbl, buy a replacement filter and get access to other features.
If you do not want to use the app, you can operate AirBubbl manually using the buttons on the device. Please refer to the user’s guide for more information.
The filter will last approximately 1000 hours. We recommend changing the filter every six months, depending on the usage. However, the AirBubbl has a filter replacement indicator. If the LED indicator on the AirBubbl starts flashing red, it is time to change the filter. If you are using the AirBubbl app, you can track the usage there and you will receive a notification when it’s time to change it.
Yes. Although optimally designed for in-car use, the AirBubbl is still highly effective in certain indoor settings. For example, it can be used in a small office, night stand or a child’s room when powered by a plug with a 2.1A USB outlet. We recommend standing the AirBubbl up if it is used outside of the car to ensure the best supply of clean air to the end-user.
The AirBubbl uses a dual-action filter that consists of an active carbon element to remove ozone (O3) as well as other Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) including nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide, ozone(O3), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene. This is coupled with a powerful HEPA filter to remove airborne pathogens and particulate pollutants such as PM2.5, and PM10, along with dust, dander, pollen and other allergens. Most importantly our HEPA filter is tested with and proven to remove more than 95% of the airborne human coronavirus.
The removal rates are up to 95% for PM and harmful gases as a result of the patented technology and design that the AirBubbl incorporates.
Particulate matter and gases that the AirBubbl remove are not always visible to the human eye, so it is not always easy to clearly “see the difference” the AirBubbl is making.
However, the AirBubbl is independently tested by third parties – Enviro Technology Services – has confirmed the performance of the AirBubbl in independent expert testing against a range of products from this sector.
In addition, AirLabs regularly receives customer feedback reporting that they can feel a difference within the vehicle in terms of how clean and fresh the air is to breathe. This is particularly common in respiratory condition sufferers who are far more acutely aware of air quality.
AirLabs can also conduct air quality measurements for potential clients to demonstrate to them just how effective the product is should they wish.
All vehicles will have an inline filter built into the ventilation system of the vehicle, this is typically referred to as a pollen or cabin filter. These units are built to a minimal cost within the overall production of a vehicle and are very basic in their design and operation. Third party studies conducted on the performance of a range of standard cabin filters resulted in a range of removal ratios for particulate matter between 1% and 90% and in most cases minimal removal performance with regards to harmful gases. Furthermore, the in-cabin filters do not protect occupants against pollutants that enter the vehicle via means outside of the ventilation system (windows, doors, seals, other occupants). As such a dedicated high-performance in-vehicle air cleaner is the only way to provide occupants protection from the air pollution that builds up within a vehicle.
The AirBubbl will clean a typical car cabin of more than 95% of the pollutants within 12 minutes when the windows are closed and the car’s ventilation set to low and recirculation. Air cleaning within a car is influenced by several factors which should be considered in relation to this question. The performance figures for the AirBubbl will be affected by windows and doors being opened, and the ventilation settings being set to higher fan speed and not recirculation. The device itself is rated to provide 38 cubic meters of completely clean air per hour, which is class-leading based on the size and weight of the AirBubbl device.
There are a variety of air purifiers and air cleaners on the market, but they do not all perform in the same way. These include ionizers, ozonators, particulate filters, and carbon filters. The filtration system utilized within the AirBubbl has been designed to provide the maximum performance capabilities for both air cleaning and airflow. Examples of all types of available filtration methods have been thoroughly benchmarked and laboratory tested alongside the AirBubbl. Nothing performs as quickly and effectively in removing both particulate matter and gases as the AirBubbl within its price range. The reports demonstrating this can be provided on request.
The AirBubbl is powered via its USB-C inlet and requires a 5V, 2.1 A (10W) supply which may be provided via USB to car outlet, USB to an appropriate domestic plug and wall outlet, or other suitable USB power supply, including a suitable 20,000mAh power bank.
Filter changes are completely user friendly and can be completed in minutes. The used filters can be disposed of with standard / general waste. Replacement filters are available through all our sales channels.
Please see our helpful video ‘how to change the AirBubbl filter?’
To change the filter, unclip the headrest strap, then remove the sleeve by sliding this off. This will expose the clips underneath holding the filter inplace, push the clips in to release the grid, then pull the filter out using the ribbons. Slide in your new filter, and put the AirBubbl back together.
To reset the filter replacement indicator, hold down the button on the AirBubbl for 5 seconds, the LED light should blink red two times and then the AirBubbl and its filter are ready to be used again.
The AirBubbl airflow system operates by drawing polluted air through the filters and redistributing the clean air via directional fans within the casing, these produce a small amount of sound when in operation. This is comparable with the existing ventilation system within a vehicle, as such the AirBubbl is not particularly noticeable or distracting during its operation. The AirBubbl is rated at 44 dBa in Normal mode and 48 dBa in Boost mode.

The AirBubbl has two different operation cycles: Manual cycle and Auto cycle. It also has three modes: Boost mode, Normal mode, and Standby mode. Auto is the cycle that requires the least input from you. In this cycle, the airbubbl will run in Boost Mode for 5 minutes, to thoroughly clean all the air in your car's cabin. After 5 minutes, the AirBubbl will automatically switch to Normal mode which is a maintenance mode to keep the air in your car clean. I would recommend turning the AirBubbl on to the Auto cycle when you begin your journey.
This should alleviate any need to adjust the AirBubbl while driving.
The AirBubbl requires a USB-C cable.
Vacuuming the fabric, and washing it at 30℃ on a normal washing cycle will keep it free from excess large particles, and can be done once every couple of months. Do not bleach or tumble dry.
